E3 gaming conference is not taking place
The E3 Gaming Conference was scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, USA in June this year. However, this event has been canceled for the third year in a row.
The decision was taken by the organizing body Entertainment Software Association (ESA) considering the health risks of Covid-19 and the safety of exhibitors and participants. However, the ESA did not say whether the digital event would be held this year.
The ESA just said, "They are looking forward to the future of E3 and expect to announce more details soon."
Since 1995, manufacturers have been considering the release of new games in the E3 market. It was at this gaming conference that the Nintendo Y was first unveiled, the PlayStation 4 was announced, and classic games like Hello 2 were released.
Due to the Corona situation, the 2020 and 2021 events were canceled. However, last year the event was held digitally with game makers such as Nintendo, Xbox, Konami and Ubisoft, and game lovers were allowed to view online exhibitions, trailers and preview products.
But even though the physical event was canceled earlier this year, the issue of the virtual event has not been finalized yet. As a result, some people have started questioning the future of this conference. Because over the last few years, the impact of the E3 conference has begun to wane. That's because big gaming companies like Sony, the maker of electronic arts and PlayStation, have decided not to take part in such events.
