To guide students through the complex application pathways of overseas academia, research grants, and global funding channels, Jashore University of Science and Technology (JUST) has launched a comprehensive two-month higher study seminar series. The opening session, focusing on "Ways to Secure Scholarship Opportunities in Australia," was held on Sunday, 11 October 2026, offering undergraduate and graduate scholars structured strategic guidance.

Organized by the Office of Student Counseling and Guidance in collaboration with the JUST Research Society, the inaugural ceremony began at 2:00 PM at the Prof. Mohammad Sharif Hossain Gallery inside the Kazi Nazrul Islam Academic Building. Presided over by Student Counseling and Guidance Director Dr. Md. Rafiul Hasan, the event featured JUST Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Yearul Kabir as the chief guest, with Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sheikh Mahamudul Hasan and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faruq Hasan serving as special guests.

In his address, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Yearul Kabir emphasized that while securing prestigious international scholarships and acquiring cutting-edge expertise abroad is highly encouraged, scholars must return home to translate those competencies into meaningful national progress. Urging the young generation to remain anchored in their civic responsibilities, he noted that overcoming procedural hurdles with optimism and resilience will ensure long-term academic success.

Special guest Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sheikh Mahamudul Hasan highlighted the importance of leveraging accurate educational information, encouraging students to realize their academic potential while affirming the administration's continued institutional backing. Treasurer Prof. Dr. Mohammad Faruq Hasan stated that the two-month series sets a benchmark in candidate preparedness, urging students to direct their international exposure toward enriching the country's economic and educational frameworks.

The technical module was conducted by Dr. Farhad Karim Saikat, Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics Engineering and Biotechnology (GEBT). He walked participants through procedural requirements for postgraduate and doctoral admissions in Australia, providing in-depth strategies for crafting high-impact Statements of Purpose (SOP), procuring strong recommendation letters, preparing for standardized evaluations including GRE, TOEFL, and IELTS, and establishing direct research correspondence with prospective international faculty advisors, official sources confirmed.
