Flights from Dhaka to Saudi Arabia have been cancelled or suspended following the shutdown of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. The disruption has left passengers facing travel uncertainty. The Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) reported five flight cancellations from Dhaka as of Sunday morning, October 11.

The situation followed an attack by Houthi forces on an airport in Saudi Arabia. According to CAAB, the flights were cancelled because operations at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport had been suspended. The disruption affected flights operated by several Saudi airlines as well as Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The reported cancellations included Saudia Airlines flights SV 804, SV 805, SV 806 and SV 807, along with RX 763 and RX 764. Biman Bangladesh Airlines’ BG 339 flight, scheduled to travel from Dhaka to Riyadh, was also suspended.

In an emergency notice issued on Saturday night, Biman Bangladesh Airlines said flights BG 339 and BG 340 on the Dhaka–Riyadh–Dhaka route would remain suspended until further notice due to unavoidable circumstances. Passengers booked on these flights were advised not to go to the airport.

Biman said it was monitoring the situation. The airline will officially announce updates on flight status and revised schedules later.

Meanwhile, US-Bangla Airlines flight BS 381 was unable to reach its scheduled destination on Saturday and landed elsewhere. The flight was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka at 3:10 pm on Saturday. However, CAAB said it landed in Dhaka at 3:10 am early Sunday, around 12 hours later than scheduled.
