Two-month programme concludes at DIU
AI training for healthcare professionals

Daffodil International University hosted a seminar and certificate-awarding ceremony focusing on the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence in healthcare, improved clinical performance and the development of artificial intelligence solutions tailored to healthcare institutions.
The “AI for Healthcare Professionals” seminar was held on Saturday at the Prof Dr Aminul Islam Seminar Hall at Daffodil Smart City in Birulia, Savar.
The event was jointly organised by DIU’s Office of the Adviser, Strategy and Innovation, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, and Skill Jobs of Daffodil Group.
The programme marked the successful completion of the first two-month training batch, which was attended by more than 40 specialist physicians, healthcare professionals and hospital management representatives.
DIU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Masum Iqbal attended the event as chief guest. Prof Dr Gias U Ahsan, Adviser for Strategy and Innovation and Professor of Public Health at DIU, chaired the programme.
Speakers included DIU Trustee Board member Akib Arafat Khan; Dean of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Prof Dr S M Mahbub Ul Haque Majumder; Professor of Nutrition and Food Engineering Dr Md Belal Hossain; Head of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology Prof Dr Khondaker Moazzem Hossain; Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Prof Dr Sheikh Rashed Haider Noori; Head of the Department of Public Health Prof Dr A B M Alauddin Chowdhury; Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Md Rashedul Islam; and Skill Jobs Business Head and DIU CDC Industrial Linkage Head Monwarul Islam Rebel.
The programme highlighted ethical and responsible applications of artificial intelligence in healthcare, enhancement of clinical performance, capacity building and the development of artificial intelligence solutions aligned with the needs of healthcare institutions.
The event also brought healthcare professionals and technology-sector stakeholders together on a common platform to discuss and explore practical applications of artificial intelligence and personalised agents.
The three best artificial intelligence agents developed by the participants were demonstrated at the event. Crests were presented in recognition of outstanding achievements, while training certificates were distributed among successful participants.
