- National AI policy and dedicated administrative AI assistants currently in development
- Multi-agency training enhances cyber defense and data-driven administrative capabilities
The government is moving to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern digital tools into administrative workflows to improve bureaucratic efficiency and streamline public service delivery. The directives were highlighted during the concluding session of a five-day technical training program titled 'Strategic Use of AI Tools & Cyber Security for PMO Officials', held on Monday, 24 August 2026. The program was jointly organized by the Prime Minister's Office Governance Innovation Unit (GIU) and the ICT Division's EDGE Project.
Delivering the presidential address, Md. Ismail Zabiullah, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Public Administration, remarked, "Artificial intelligence is critical to building a modern, data-driven administrative framework. It empowers public servants to make faster, analytics-driven decisions while minimizing operational bottlenecks. Technology does not replace human wisdom or leadership; rather, it functions as an augmenting tool to support informed governance." He added that fostering strong human-AI collaboration remains a central objective for future state administration.
Md. Mamunur Rashid Bhuiyan, Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division, stated that a comprehensive National AI Policy is currently being drafted alongside the development of specialized AI assistants to automate routine administrative tasks. He confirmed that officials across all ministries will systematically undergo advanced training in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence integration.
The session concluded with the formal distribution of completion certificates to participating officials from the Prime Minister's Office.
