Newly appointed Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Andaleeve Rahman Partho, emphasized a regulatory approach over administrative control during his first official day in office. Addressing ministry officials and staff at the Bangladesh Secretariat, he outlined his vision to rebuild system credibility and ensure responsible broadcasting.
Arriving at the Secretariat at 8:20 AM, the Minister was warmly received by ministry leadership. Speaking as the chief guest, Minister Partho noted, "Our primary responsibility is to communicate the government's development activities to the public with honesty and credibility." Underscoring that the government took charge under Prime Minister Tarique Rahman during a critical historical transition, he reaffirmed his commitment to safeguarding media freedom, professionalism, and restoring damaged institutional structures.
Prime Minister's Information Advisor Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman highlighted the growing threat of disinformation and fake news, noting that the ministry must adopt creative strategies to deliver authentic news.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Yaser Khan Chowdhury, called for rapid execution of modernizing plans for key media state organs, including Bangladesh Television (BTV), Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Bangladesh Betar, and BFDC. Information Secretary Mahbuba Farjana along with heads of various media departments were present at the meeting.
