130 AI Agents on Display at Daffodil International University
Students at Daffodil International University showcased 130 AI agents ahead of the inauguration of the university's new Artificial Intelligence Lab, presenting a wide range of innovations designed to address challenges in healthcare, accessibility and customer service.
Among the standout projects was Skin X, an AI-powered health technology solution developed to help address the severe shortage of dermatologists across South Asia, where more than 100,000 people are often served by just one skin specialist. The system is capable of providing preliminary skin disease assessments and recommendations using artificial intelligence.
On Saturday (July 11), Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam toured the exhibition of the student-developed AI agents before officially inaugurating the university's AI Lab at its permanent campus.
The exhibition also featured several innovative projects aimed at improving healthcare and quality of life. One of them was a self-learning Assistive Robotic Hand, designed to support individuals living with paralysis or physical disabilities. Equipped with an onboard camera, the AI-powered robotic hand can automatically analyze its surroundings and assist users with everyday tasks.
Another notable project, QR ARG Golden Beauty, combines the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence to enhance customer service in the cosmetics industry. Powered by a Raspberry Pi microcontroller and AI technology, the device scans a customer's face, analyzes the facial data and recommends the most suitable cosmetic products based on the individual's skin characteristics.
The exhibition was held at the university's specialized laboratory in Block 4 of its permanent campus, where visiting dignitaries praised the students' technological excellence and innovative capabilities.
