Chittagong: Chittagong University (CU) has taken steps to introduce modern departments or institutes focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science to keep pace with global technological advancements. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan shared these plans during his written speech at the university's Senate meeting on Saturday (August 8).
Highlighting the institution's future trajectory, the Vice-Chancellor noted that modern subjects are being prioritized to elevate CU's academic and research standards to international benchmarks. He stated, "In order to elevate Chittagong University to an international level, importance is being given to modern and timely subjects in education and research. As part of this, plans have been made to launch departments/institutes to move parallel with modern science and technology like AI and Data Science."
He further added, "In line with the modern technology-driven world, new initiatives are being taken to enrich the university's education and research activities. In this case, emphasis is being given to expanding technology-based education and research opportunities." The VC expressed confidence that these programs will significantly expand tech-driven knowledge for students and researchers alike.
