Rising costs of semiconductors and memory chips, supply chain disruptions, and global economic uncertainties have put immense pressure on smartphone manufacturing setups worldwide. Consequently, retail prices are soaring globally. According to tech analysts, upcoming changes in local tax structures in Bangladesh from this July are expected to drive local smartphone prices even higher. However, while major competitors are drawing plans to increase their device prices, AI-driven global premium smart ecosystem brand TECNO is moving in a completely different, consumer-centric direction.

To ensure cutting-edge technology reaches a wider consumer base in Bangladesh, Tecno has initiated a significant price reduction on its premium Camon and Pova series starting from July 1.

With the expiration of tax exemptions on June 30 and the soaring international prices of key components like chipsets, processors, motherboards, and batteries, most corporations are passing the burden onto buyers. To provide dynamic relief and democratize premium technology, Tecno has reduced the pricing of its highly sought-after 'Camon 50' model.

New Pricing Breakdown for Tecno Camon 50:

  • Camon 50 (256GB Storage + 8GB RAM): Previously priced at BDT 38,999, this premium variant is now available at an attractive price of BDT 36,999 (VAT applicable) following a BDT 2,000 price drop.

  • Camon 50 (128GB Storage + 8GB RAM): Originally retailing at BDT 34,999, consumers can now purchase this high-performance model for just BDT 31,999 (VAT applicable), saving a flat BDT 3,000.

This massive price drop makes flagship-standard mobile photography and premium build quality highly affordable for the masses. However, the company noted that this special price restructuring is valid for a limited period only.

Against the backdrop of critical market changes starting this July, Tecno’s strategy demonstrates that it is entirely possible to run a sustainable business without shifting sudden overhead manufacturing costs onto end consumers—all while retaining top-tier innovation, raw performance, and build quality. By trimming down prices on selected devices, Tecno reiterates its long-standing commitment to offering affordable yet highly innovative technology to Bangladeshi smartphone lovers.
