Institutions face approval cancellation over prolonged absence of student enrollment
BTEB Issues Final Notice to 1,085 Training Institutes
- Final notice served to 1,085 institutions
- Written explanations required within seven working days
- Approval and course registration may be cancelled
To strengthen digital education governance and accountability in skills development, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board (BTEB) has issued a final notice to 1,085 institutions running the National Skills Standard Basic (360-hour) programme, warning that their teaching approvals may be cancelled due to prolonged failure to enroll students.
According to a final notice published on the BTEB website on Monday, July 20, the board had previously issued two separate show-cause notices asking why student admissions from the July–December 2026 session should not be suspended and why institutional approval should not be withdrawn.
The latest notice, issued on July 1, requested written explanations by July 10. However, BTEB said none of the 1,085 institutions submitted any response within the stipulated period.
The board has now declared the latest communication as a final notice, directing the institutions to submit written explanations with valid reasons within seven working days.
BTEB warned that failure to respond within the deadline will be treated as having no statement to offer, after which the board will proceed with cancelling teaching approval, revoking course registration and taking other administrative actions in accordance with existing regulations.
The complete list of the 1,085 institutions currently facing approval cancellation has been published on the official website of the Bangladesh Technical Education Board.
