State Minister Urges Collective Action for Cyber Security and Digital Trust
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yasser Khan Chowdhury has urged all stakeholders to prioritize cyber security and digital trust to safeguard the country’s digital progression.
State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Yasser Khan Chowdhury, has urged the IT industry and media stakeholders to collaborate in building a robust national cyber resilience framework to secure the nation's rapid digital growth. He made these remarks as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the "Phoenix Summit 2026" on Friday (June 26) at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Exhibition Center in Dhaka.
The event was organized by "The Team Phoenix Group." The State Minister highlighted that with daily lives, financial frameworks, and media platforms increasingly relying on technology, cyber security and digital trust have emerged as vital national priorities. He warned that any breach in digital financial transactions or erosion of public trust in digital services could stagnate national economic momentum.
Emphasizing information transparency and mass literacy, the Minister added that cyber security is not merely an institutional technicality but is directly linked to public awareness. He noted that the true benefits of digital transformation cannot be realized without educating citizens against cybercrimes and online rumors.
Tarique Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director and CEO of BRAC Bank PLC, attended the event as a special guest, while Piotr Kijewski, CEO of The Shadowserver Foundation, presented the keynote paper. The event wrapped up with an expression of gratitude to A S M Shamim Reza, Founder and Managing Director of The Team Phoenix Group (TTPG), and Md. Abdullah Farid, Strategy and Transformation Advisor, for organizing the high-profile summit.
