Jasim Uddin Foundation Funds Four Buses to Ease CUET Transport Crisis
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is set to receive four buses from the Alhaj Jasim Uddin Foundation to help address the university’s severe transportation crisis. A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the university and the foundation on Thursday, May 21, at the CUET Syndicate Room.
Relevant officials expressed hope that the new buses would significantly improve transportation facilities for students and help alleviate the university’s long-standing transport shortage.
The signing ceremony was attended by CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Motin Bhuiya. The MoU was signed on behalf of CUET by Registrar (Additional Charge) Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir, while Alhaj Jasim Uddin, Founder and Chairman of the Alhaj Jasim Uddin Foundation, signed on behalf of the foundation.
Representing CUET at the event were Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Dr. Mohammad Abu Kawsar, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan, Director of the Transport Department Syed Masrur Ahmad, and Assistant Director of the Directorate of Student Welfare Md. Masum Rana Pramanik.
Representatives from the foundation included Vice-Chairman Mohammad Zobayer Uddin Tansi, Director Alhaj Moktar Ahmed, former Headmaster of Noapara High School Mohammad Habib Ullah, journalist S.M. Yusuf Uddin, and bank official Md. Belal.
CUET Deputy Director (Public Relations) Mohammad Fazlur Rahman, Deputy Registrar (Law and Estate) S.M. Mokhtarul Mostafa, Assistant Registrar (Law and Estate) Md. Zobayer Hossain, Public Relations Officer Aidit Ibne Monju, along with various university officials and concerned individuals were also present at the ceremony.
