Fuel Fee Fall: BERC Cuts Jet Fuel Prices After Triple Hike

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission has decided to reduce the price of jet fuel in the country by nearly Tk 22 per litre following three consecutive price hikes.

The decision was taken at a commission meeting on Thursday, May 7.

Under the new decision, the price of jet fuel for domestic routes has been reduced from Tk 227.08 per litre to Tk 205.45 per litre.

For international flights, the price has been lowered from US$ 1.4806 per litre to US$ 1.3385 per litre.

The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission said the new prices will take effect from Thursday night.

Earlier, in January this year, the price of jet fuel was Tk 94.93 per litre. In February, it increased slightly to Tk 95.12 per litre.

Following the onset of the Iran–United States conflict in early 2026, the first phase of price increase in March raised the price to Tk 112.41 per litre. On March 24, in the second phase, the price was increased to Tk 202.29 per litre. Most recently, in April, the price rose to Tk 227.08 per litre.
