Safety Systems Strengthened:
Grameenphone Scales HSS Initiatives for Field Force
Leading telecom operator Grameenphone has undertaken a range of awareness initiatives nationwide to ensure the health, safety and security (HSS) of its frontline teams working within the distribution network. The primary objective of these efforts is to reduce occupational risks for field-level employees and to establish a structured safety culture.
In a press release issued on Thursday, April 9, the company stated that, as part of this initiative, a specialized “defensive motorbike training” program has been conducted for frontline workers. In addition, a “health check-up campaign” was organized to inspect motorbikes used by field staff through certified mechanics. Furthermore, Grameenphone distributed high-quality safety shoes among members of the Distribution House Field Force (DHFF).
Commenting on the initiative, Farha Naz Zaman, Chief Marketing Officer of Grameenphone, said, “Safety is an integral part of Grameenphone’s operations. These measures have been taken to minimize operational risks and to equip frontline teams with the necessary skills and tools to work safely. Strengthening safety standards within the distribution network is essential to ensuring long-term sustainability.”
She added, “Grameenphone believes that employee safety is the foundation of the organization. This ongoing effort to ensure a safe working environment is not only about maintaining compliance, but also reflects the company’s commitment to protecting the lives of every employee.”
