1,058 International Flights Cancelled in 29 Days Amid Middle East Conflict
22 International Flights Cancelled on March 27
A total of 22 international flights were cancelled on Friday, March 27, due to the ongoing war situation in the Middle East. With this, the total number of cancelled flights has reached 1,058 over the past 29 days. All these flights were scheduled for destinations in the Middle East.
In the afternoon, the Civil Aviation Authority stated that airlines cancelled multiple flights from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport due to the closure of airspace in Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan. Among the cancellations on March 27 were 4 Kuwait-bound flights, 6 Air Arabia flights, 2 Gulf Air (Bahrain) flights, 4 Qatar Airways (Qatar) flights, 2 Emirates Airlines (United Arab Emirates) flights, and 4 Jazeera (Kuwait) flights.
Earlier cancellations included 23 flights on February 28, 40 flights on March 1, 46 flights on March 2, 39 flights on March 3, 28 flights on March 4, 36 flights on March 5, 34 flights on March 6, 28 flights on March 7, 28 flights on March 8, 33 flights on March 9, 32 flights on March 10, 27 flights on March 11, 28 flights on March 12, 25 flights on March 13, 24 flights on March 14, 23 flights on March 15, 28 flights on March 16, 26 flights on March 17, 26 flights on March 18, 26 flights on March 19, 28 flights on March 20, 25 flights on March 21, 20 flights on March 22, 20 flights on March 23, 20 flights on March 24, 20 flights on March 25, 22 flights on March 26, and 22 flights on March 27 from Dhaka.
Due to the closure of air routes amid the conflict, a total of 1,058 flights have been cancelled so far.
