Eid Message: PM Tarique Rahman Urges Sharing Joy, Supporting the Needy
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called upon the nation to be inspired by the ideals of Ramadan and to share the joy of Eid with everyone. In a video message on Friday evening, March 20, the Prime Minister extended greetings and said “Eid Mubarak” to the people on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Extending Eid greetings to the people of the country as well as Muslims around the world, he said, “On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the people of the country. I convey my sincere congratulations and Eid Mubarak to the Muslim Ummah of Bangladesh and across the world.”
“May the joy of Eid reach every home and every family. Let us be inspired by the ideals of Ramadan and share the sacred joy of Eid with one another.”
In another message, calling on people to stand beside the helpless, the poor, and the underprivileged, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman said, “Eid Mubarak. Dear countrymen, Assalamu Alaikum. The holy month of Ramadan has departed, imparting lessons of sacrifice, piety, and restraint. After a month-long practice of fasting, the holy Eid-ul-Fitr arrives with the message of universal unity, solidarity, compassion, and pure joy for the Muslim Ummah.”
Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the two largest religious festivals for Muslims. After a month of fasting and restraint, it brings messages of joy, peace, harmony, and brotherhood into our lives. The holy month of Ramadan teaches the unique values of restraint, sacrifice, service, and self-purification. This month-long practice teaches us self-discipline and helps us feel the suffering of others, fostering empathy and mutual cooperation in society.
The Prime Minister said that reflecting the teachings of Ramadan in personal, family, social, and state life is the true significance of Eid. “Eid calls upon us to forget divisions between rich and poor, young and old, and to be united in bonds of love and brotherhood. On this joyful day, let us stand beside the helpless, the poor, and the underprivileged, and share the happiness of Eid with everyone—let this be our commitment.”
Tarique Rahman further expressed hope that Eid-ul-Fitr would strengthen national unity, mutual harmony, and compassion. “Let us be inspired by the noble ideals of Eid to work collectively towards building a humane, developed, peaceful, and prosperous Bangladesh. I pray to Almighty Allah that He bestows the joy, mercy, and blessings of Eid-ul-Fitr upon all of us. May Almighty Allah guide our country and nation towards peace, progress, and prosperity, and ensure the well-being of the entire Muslim Ummah.”
