BNP Leaders Emphasize ICT’s Role in Bridging Digital Gaps
Moin Khan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and former Minister of Science and Technology, believes that the major disconnection that has developed in Bangladesh’s information technology sector over the past 17 years will be overcome under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Meanwhile, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapan expressed optimism that the faster the country can connect to the information technology highway, the easier and quicker it will be to fulfill the government’s commitments.
He also remarked that the ICT sector can play a significant role if public services are to truly reach the people.
They made these remarks while addressing an iftar gathering organized by the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi ICT Forum at Radisson Blu in the capital on Sunday evening, 15 March.
The event was chaired by Forum President Engineer Rafael Kabir. Among others present were General Secretary Rowshan Kamal James and Adviser AKM Wahiduzzaman.
