Two Robbery Suspects Arrested in Mohammadpur
Two iPhones of ACC Director General Recovered
Police from Mohammadpur Police Station in the capital have recovered two iPhones that were snatched from an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director General in Mohammadpur. During the operation, two members of the robbery gang were arrested. The detainees were identified as Shahzada and Rubel, also known as Boxer.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (AC) Md. Abdullah Al Mamun of the Mohammadpur Zone under the Tejgaon Division confirmed that they were arrested from the Geneva Camp area at around 11:30 pm on Sunday night, March 8.
The police official stated that the two recovered iPhones belong to Md. Motahar Hossain, Director General (Inquiry and Investigation-2) of the ACC.
Earlier, at around 11 pm on Saturday, March 7, several robbers armed with locally made sharp weapons surrounded and assaulted the ACC Director General while he was walking through Shaheed Farhan Faiyaz Chattar (Nanak Chattar) beside the Residential College in Mohammadpur.
During the incident, the attackers snatched two mobile phones—an iPhone 6 Plus and an iPhone 12 Pro Max—along with Tk 15,000 in cash and an expensive wristwatch from him. The robbers later assaulted him when he delayed providing the phone passwords. As a result, he sustained serious injuries to his neck and eye.
Following the incident, a case was filed with Mohammadpur Police Station.
The ACC official is currently admitted to the Government Employees Hospital for treatment.
