On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited and leading digital operator Banglalink have launched a groundbreaking initiative in the country’s painting industry. To ensure women’s participation in a profession traditionally dominated by men and to strengthen their economic and social empowerment, the two organizations have announced a collaborative partnership.

The initiative aims to bring women painters—who are building careers beyond traditional professional boundaries—under the umbrella of digital connectivity, financial capability, and healthcare services. Berger Paints has already provided technical training to women painters through its own training institute to enhance their professional skills. To further transform these skills into professional opportunities and strengthen their position in the workplace, Banglalink is offering digital and financial support.

Under this initiative, participating women painters are receiving a special Banglalink business SIM card, which will serve as their official business contact number. Through this, customers seeking services via Berger Experience Zones will be able to contact them directly. In addition, Banglalink is offering smartphone purchase facilities through EMI, enabling the women to expand their services digitally and improve their online skills, with the company covering the initial down payment.

To ensure financial independence, the women painters have also been enlisted as agents on Banglalink’s ‘BL Power’ app. This will allow them to earn additional income by providing mobile recharge services alongside their painting work. Furthermore, the initiative places strong emphasis on health protection to reduce uncertainties in their professional lives. In collaboration with Clinicall, they will receive unlimited specialist doctor consultations for one year through the ‘MyBL’ app, along with health insurance coverage of up to Tk 100,000. In special circumstances, they can also claim up to Tk 25,000 for hospitalization or treatment, in addition to life insurance benefits.

Banglalink Chief Marketing Officer Kazi Mahbub Hasan said, “Digital inclusion opens new horizons for women to achieve independent and sustainable livelihoods. This partnership with Berger reflects our ‘People-First’ philosophy and will help these pioneering women move forward with confidence.”

Berger Paints Chief Marketing Officer Salahuddin Ahmed said, “Women’s participation in the painting industry is not only creating new opportunities but also delivering trusted and comfortable services to customers. The integrated support from Banglalink will make this journey more meaningful and sustainable.”

This collaboration between technology and corporate support is not only increasing women’s participation in a specific profession but is also playing a vital role in building the foundation of an inclusive and progressive economy. Such initiatives are expected to serve as a model example for women entrepreneurs and professionals in Bangladesh in the future.
