Narayanganj Police Recover 74 Lost Mobile Phones including one Lost from Rajasthan, Return Those to Owners
Narayanganj District Police have recovered 74 lost mobile phones, including a smartphone belonging to an Indian citizen, and returned them to their rightful owners.
According to district police sources, a specialized team from the ICT unit of the district police recovered the mobile phones by investigating general diaries (GDs) filed over different periods regarding lost devices. The recovered phones were handed over to their owners at a ceremony held at the office of the Superintendent of Police on Wednesday, March 4.
Many of the recipients became emotional after getting back their lost phones and expressed their gratitude to the district police.
Among the recovered devices was a Galaxy S24 Ultra model phone, belonging to a citizen from Rajasthan province in India. The phone had originally been lost in Rajasthan. A few days later, the owner received a notification in his Gmail account indicating that the device had been activated in Narayanganj. He then collected a contact number online and reached out to Narayanganj District Police.
Acting on the instructions of Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi, the ICT unit successfully recovered the phone belonging to the Indian citizen from Rajasthan.
Police said that necessary arrangements were made through the Indian High Commission to return the device to its rightful owner. On the day of the event, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi formally handed over the recovered mobile phones to their owners. Senior district police officials, along with officers and members of the ICT unit, were present at the event.
