NBR Invites Stakeholder Suggestions for Participatory and Taxpayer-Friendly Budget 2026–27
The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has invited proposals from various chambers, business associations, and professional organizations to make the upcoming 2026–27 fiscal year budget more participatory, people-oriented, and taxpayer-friendly. In addition to submitting hard copies, stakeholders have been requested to send a soft copy of their proposals (in NikoshBAN font) via email.
Organizations have been instructed to prepare their proposals on official letterhead and send them directly to the NBR via email. Institutions or entities that are not members of any chamber or association have also been encouraged to submit their budget proposals directly through the specified email address.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued on Tuesday, 3 March, by the Office of the Chief Budget Coordinator of the NBR.
The press release stated that in preparing the government’s revenue-based budget, the NBR regularly consults taxpayers, industrial and commercial bodies, trade associations, professional organizations, research institutions, and intellectuals. This year as well, initiatives have been taken to formulate the revenue collection framework for the 2026–27 fiscal year in a more meaningful, analytical, and representative manner through discussions with all relevant stakeholders.
According to the statement, various chambers and associations have been requested to submit their respective written budget proposals to the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) by 15 March. At the same time, they are required to email a copy directly to the NBR.
