Administrator Appointed After Board of Engineering Body-BEIOA  Dissolved

The government has dissolved the board of directors of the Bangladesh Engineering Industry Owners Association (BEIOA) and appointed a new administrator. Mohammad Delwar Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, has been assigned the responsibility as administrator.

The information was disclosed in a notification issued by the Ministry of Commerce on Wednesday, February 25. According to the notice, the appointment was made effective through an office order issued on Tuesday (February 24).

The notification stated that under Section 17 of the Trade Organizations Act, 2022, the board of directors of the organization has been dissolved, and with government approval, Mohammad Delwar Hossain has been appointed as administrator.

Sources at the ministry said that BEIOA is a registered trade organization licensed by the Ministry of Commerce. The tenure of the current committee expired on December 31, 2025. The notification further mentioned that due to a lack of coordination within the existing board, the organization’s activities were not being conducted properly in accordance with the law and in the interests of business, industry, trade, and the service sector.

According to the appointment order, Administrator Mohammad Delwar Hossain has been instructed to complete a fair and neutral election within 120 days. After the election, he will hand over responsibility to the newly elected committee and inform the ministry accordingly.
