One-Stop Citizen Services Centre Launched at DU TSC

With the aim of providing “all citizen services under one address” to students and university officials and employees, the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) has launched a Citizen Service Centre at TSC of University of Dhaka. The centre was inaugurated on Sunday afternoon, February 22, with the support of the ICT Division of the Government of Bangladesh.

Speaking about the launch of the Citizen Service Centre, DUCSU Career Development Secretary Mazharul Islam said that students of Dhaka University often have to approach different relevant offices for various academic and personal services, where they frequently face the dominance of broker syndicates and various forms of harassment. “To ensure hassle-free services for university teachers, students, officials and employees from a single centre, we have taken this initiative,” he said.

He further added, “In some cases, a complete one-stop solution has not yet been possible. Work is ongoing on this matter under a2i (Aspire to Innovate). We hope that students and all members of the university community will benefit from this centre, InshaAllah.”

Earlier, on January 25, Mazharul Islam announced the launch of the Citizen Service Centre at TSC. As part of the initiative, the centre was formally inaugurated on February 11 by Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser of the outgoing interim government, alongside University Vice-Chancellor Niaz Ahmed Khan.

It has been learned that various government services will be available from this centre, including birth and death certificates, NID card correction, passports, driving licences, trade licences, digital signing, digital general diary (GD), land tax, e-porcha (electronic land record), utility bills and tax-related services. Approximately 40,000 students, along with all teachers, officials and employees of the university, will be able to receive services from this centre.
