Meta Temporarily Removes Mufti Amir Hamza’s Official Facebook Page
Meta has temporarily removed the official Facebook page of Mufti Amir Hamza, the Jamaat-e-Islami nominee for Kushtia-3 (Sadar) constituency. The information was confirmed by Hamza’s IT cell on Thursday, 5 February, in the afternoon. The IT team has already initiated contact with Meta authorities to restore the page, and the process of presenting all necessary information and evidence is ongoing.
According to Hamza’s IT cell, the official page had been targeted over the past few days by a coordinated campaign involving false copyright strikes and cyber attacks. Consequently, Meta temporarily removed the page. The IT cell emphasized that the removal was not due to any policy violation, but resulted from deliberate false claims and fabricated reports.
The ICT team stated that they firmly believe the action was carried out by a group envious of Hamza’s growing popularity and public support.
In their statement, the IT cell remarked, “Even if Facebook removes a page, it cannot remove Mufti Amir Hamza from the hearts of the people.”
