A total of 194,914 postal ballots submitted by expatriate registrants through the “Postal Vote BD” app for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum have already arrived in Bangladesh.
The information was confirmed on Monday, February 3, by Salim Ahmad Khan, Team Leader of the Overseas Voter Registration–OCV-SDI project, while speaking to BSS.
He said that as of 11:00 am on Monday, 766,862 ballots had been delivered to expatriate voters who registered through the mobile application.
Among them, 522,315 expatriate voters have received their ballots. A total of 464,225 voters have already cast their votes.
In addition, 418,962 expatriate voters have deposited their ballots at post offices or postal drop boxes in their respective countries.
Bangladesh Post has so far forwarded 1,859 completed ballots to the respective Returning Officers.
Alongside overseas voters, the Election Commission (EC) has also begun sending postal ballots to voters residing within the country under the ICPV system. Ballots have already been dispatched to the addresses of 646,507 registered voters nationwide.
According to EC data, by 11:00 am on Monday, 58,797 domestic voters had received their ballots. Of them, 43,319 voters had completed voting, while 29,334 had submitted their ballots to post offices or postal drop boxes.
Salim Ahmad Khan further stated that a total of 1,533,684 voters—both at home and abroad—have registered through the “Postal Vote BD” app to cast their votes via postal ballot in the 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.
