Intel Unveils ‘Panther Lake’ at CES 2026
At the CES 2026 exhibition in Las Vegas, Intel unveiled its next-generation laptop processor, “Panther Lake”, marking a major milestone for the company. The new chip is manufactured using Intel’s in-house 18A process technology, reports Reuters.
Jim Johnson, Senior Vice President of Intel’s PC Group, said the new Intel Core Ultra Series 3 chips feature an advanced transistor design along with a new power delivery method. Compared to the previous-generation Lunar Lake chips, Panther Lake is claimed to deliver around 60 percent higher performance.
Intel expects the new chip to help the company regain market share lost to AMD. In addition, Intel plans to introduce a Panther Lake–based handheld gaming device platform later this year.
At CES, AMD and Nvidia also announced new AI-focused chips, signaling intensified competition in the global PC processor market.
