UFTB Honors Heroes on 54th Victory Day

The University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB) celebrated the 54th Victory Day with a series of events throughout the day on Tuesday, 16 December 2025. The day began at sunrise with the hoisting of the national flag at the academic building, led by UFTB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf.

Following the flag-raising ceremony, at 7:30 a.m., Professor Dr. Abu Yusuf led a wreath-laying at the National Memorial to pay tribute to the martyrs of Bangladesh’s Liberation War. University officials including Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anowar Hossain, Registrar Muhammad Ataur Rahman Khan, department chairpersons, proctors, student hall provosts, faculty members, and administrative staff were present.

A discussion session and an inter-departmental football competition award ceremony were held at the academic building in observance of the day. During his speech, Professor Dr. Abu Yusuf remembered with deep respect the valiant freedom fighters, language martyrs, those who lost their lives in the 1990 people’s uprising, and the students who died during the July–August 2024 movement, praying for their eternal peace. He emphasized the nation’s debt to those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s freedom.

Special guests included Treasurer Professor Dr. Md. Anowar Hossain, while the welcome speech was delivered by Registrar Muhammad Ataur Rahman Khan, and the session was chaired by Director (Student Welfare) Sharad Hasan.

The celebrations also featured cultural programs at the academic building, wreath-laying ceremonies led by hall authorities, and decorative lighting across academic and administrative buildings and student halls. A communal luncheon was organized for faculty, staff, and students in the afternoon.
