A new digital hospital project has been launched to expand primary healthcare and mental support services for workers in Bangladesh’s ready-made garment (RMG) sector. The initiative is a joint effort by Nuvista Pharma PLC, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), and AllWell BD Limited.

On 10 December, Nuvista Pharma Managing Director S.M. Rabbur Reza, AllWell Chairman Mojahedul Haque Abul Hasanat, and BGMEA Senior Vice President Inamul Haque Khan signed a memorandum of understanding formalizing the collaboration.

Under the digital hospital project, Nuvista Pharma will establish a structured referral network to provide timely gynecological, reproductive health, and specialist medical services, particularly for female workers. The initiative strengthens the company’s long-standing commitment to delivering evidence-based and equitable healthcare to industrial employees across Bangladesh.

S.M. Rabbur Reza, Managing Director of Nuvista Pharma, said, “Every worker has the right to timely and quality healthcare. This collaboration enables us to extend essential physical and mental health services to workers, especially women.”

The digital hospital platform will be managed by AllWell BD Limited, offering 24-hour consultation, secure e-HR management, necessary follow-ups, and in-factory awareness programs. Chairman Mojahedul Haque Abul Hasanat added, “Our goal is to provide healthcare anytime, anywhere. Integrating our digital platform in RMG factories will reduce traditional barriers to medical access and create a responsive healthcare system.”

BGMEA will ensure factory participation, support HR and compliance teams, and facilitate effective communication with workers. Senior Vice President Inamul Haque Khan said, “We are committed to innovative and effective healthcare for workers. Bringing digital health services directly into factories will reduce negligence or untreated issues and improve overall worker well-being.”

In the first phase, 5,000 workers from selected factories will join the program, with the number set to increase to 10,000 within three months. Participants will receive digital healthcare services for one year, with plans for future expansion based on reach and outcomes.

As per the agreement, the three organizations will jointly monitor quarterly progress reports, ensure data confidentiality, maintain service quality, and assess the project’s scalability.
