Fake Facebook Account Targets Faridpur SP: Police Warn Public
Authorities in Faridpur have identified a fraudulent Facebook account impersonating newly appointed Police Superintendent (SP) Md. Nozrul Islam. The account, operating under the name “SP Nojrul Islam,” uses the SP’s photo and credentials to request sensitive information, raising concerns of potential scams.
A press release from the Faridpur District Police clarified that the account has no official or personal connection to the Police Superintendent. It is being operated by fraudsters.
The police have urged the public not to comment on, share personal information with, or engage on the fake account. They further warned that anyone receiving monetary requests from the account should not respond under any circumstances.
Faridpur District Police emphasized that all official information is disseminated exclusively through verified and official social media platforms. Citizens are advised to remain vigilant to protect themselves and others from fraudulent activities.
The public is also requested to report any information regarding the fake account to the nearest police station or the Faridpur District Police Media Cell. Authorities stressed that cooperation and awareness are critical to preventing cyber scams.
