Grameenphone and Glafit Partner for Smart EV Solutions

Grameenphone, a leading telecommunications service provider in Bangladesh, has signed a strategic partnership with Glafit Bangladesh, the local affiliate of Japan’s Glafit Incorporated, to establish smart battery exchange stations and launch IoT-enabled smart meters for electric motorcycles and scooters. Under the agreement, Glafit’s electric vehicle technology will be integrated with Grameenphone’s IoT and digital connectivity solution, “Alo Connect M2M (Machine-to-Machine)” platform.

On Thursday, December 4, a press release announced that Grameenphone’s Chief Business Officer Dr. Asif Naimur Rashid and Glafit’s Chief Executive Officer Teizo Narumi formally signed the memorandum of understanding.

Commenting on the partnership, Dr. Rashid said, “This collaboration is a visionary step to align digital innovation with sustainable mobility. At Grameenphone, we continuously forge partnerships that leverage our advanced ICT and IoT capabilities in real-world applications.
