Election Commission Assigns “Shapla Kali” Symbol to NCP
The Election Commission (EC) has finalized the sketch of the official symbol “Shapla Koli” for the National Citizens Party (NCP). In the upcoming parliamentary elections, the NCP will appear on the ballot with this EC-assigned symbol.
On Wednesday, 26 November, NCP Joint Secretary and Media Cell Editor Mushfiq Us Salehin confirmed that the Election Commission has designated the “Shapla Kali” as the party’s election symbol.
He further requested that the media use this EC-assigned symbol in promoting the NCP during election campaigns.
The Election Commission’s website lists registered political parties alongside images of their assigned symbols. Until now, the slots for the NCP and the Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist) were empty. On Wednesday, the EC updated the NCP’s entry with the sketch of the “Shapla Kali.” However, the Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist) still does not have a symbol sketch beside its name.
Previously, the EC had officially registered both the NCP and the Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist). In its final decision, the EC assigned the “Shapla Kali” symbol to the NCP and the “Scissors” symbol to the Bangladesh Socialist Party (Marxist).
