Shots Fired at KUET Employee’s Residence in Khulna
Unknown assailants reportedly opened fire at the residence of Md. Mohsin Sheikh Litu, an employee of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET).
The incident took place late at night on Tuesday, October 28, in the Maheshwarpasha Khutirghat area of Daulatpur in Khulna city.
CCTV footage from the house shows several helmeted individuals arriving on four motorcycles and stopping near the main gate of the residence. They then got off the bikes and fired multiple rounds toward the gate before quickly fleeing the scene.
According to police and local sources, bullets shattered the Thai glass window of Mohsin’s room. At the time of the incident, Mohsin was at a nearby mosque performing the Fajr prayer, while his wife, Kamrun Nahar, and their two children were asleep in an adjacent room.
Following the incident, Mohsin could not be located at his residence, and multiple attempts to reach him by phone went unanswered.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatpur Police Station, Md. Rafique Islam, confirmed the incident, saying, “Six empty bullet shells have been recovered from the scene. We are investigating who carried out the attack and why.”
