Modi Meets Qualcomm CEO Amid China’s Competition Crackdown
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, according to a statement released by the Prime Minister’s Office on Saturday, Reuters reported.
In a post on social media platform X, Modi wrote, “Truly delighted to see Qualcomm’s commitment to India’s semiconductor and artificial intelligence missions.”
The meeting took place at a time when China has initiated an investigation against the U.S.-based semiconductor company. The country’s market regulator announced on Friday that it would examine whether Qualcomm violated China’s competition laws in its acquisition of Israeli chip designer Autotalks.
