In a bid to ensure world-class healthcare accessibility for Bangladeshi patients through a modern and technology-driven medical tourism system, WeCare and Thailand’s Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital have joined hands to work together.

The announcement came during a seminar titled “WeCare Presents: Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital’s Vision of Services for Bangladesh” held on Friday, October 10, at Lakeshore Heights Hotel in Dhaka.

At the event, WeCare declared its plan to collaborate with more international hospitals in the near future and to launch its own digital healthcare app by 2028.

During the presentation, WeCare shared its roadmap to enable Bangladeshi patients to access advanced foreign medical treatments more easily and affordably through an integrated, technology-based health travel system.

Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital also outlined its vision for healthcare services tailored for Bangladesh, highlighting its advanced facilities and commitment to compassionate care.

The seminar commenced with the signing of a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between WeCare and Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital. WeCare’s Chairperson Fatema Tuz Johra and Managing Director Kazi Imon were present at the signing ceremony.

Representing Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital were Chief Executive Officer Dr. Pitakpol Boonyamalik, Director of Marketing and Business Development Karnrawee Baownthanatat, Senior Orthopedic Specialist Dr. Prach Kamlangsinsarm, Cardiologist Dr. Tan Suwatnaviroj, and International Marketing Coordinator (Bangladesh) Malobika Rahman.

Dr. Pitakpol Boonyamalik, CEO of Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital, stated, “Thailand has long been recognized as one of the world’s leading destinations for medical tourism. It is a globally trusted name for its high-quality healthcare, cutting-edge technology, and world-renowned hospitality.”

He continued, “Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital proudly stands among Thailand’s top private hospitals—offering an exceptional combination of medical excellence, modern innovation, and patient-centered care. Our hospital is relatively new and managed by a young yet experienced leadership team that is building a new generation of medical leadership focused on patient-centric service, transparency, and international collaboration.”

He further added, “We are committed to delivering healthcare that meets global standards—where expert physicians, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and a compassionate nursing team work in harmony. Through partnerships with various Bangladeshi healthcare organizations and representatives, we aim to build a bridge between Dhaka and Bangkok, so that Bangladeshi patients can easily access reliable, world-class Thai healthcare infused with warmth and professionalism.”

Several patients who had received treatment at Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital shared their experiences during the event. Those unable to attend in person joined via recorded video messages, sharing how technology and innovation are transforming healthcare and simplifying the medical travel process for patients abroad.

The seminar concluded with a raffle draw for attendees, where selected guests received exclusive health packages from Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital. The prizes included a full health check-up package, a low-dose CT scan for lungs, and a calcium score test for cardiac assessment.
