The curtain is set to rise on the national round of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Bangladesh 2025, scheduled to be held on September 25 at United International University in Dhaka. Around 200 students, selected through three regional rounds, will compete for the opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the international stage of the Olympiad in Singapore this November.

For the first time, the competition was organized at the regional level, enabling students from different cities to participate closer to home and qualify for the national event. Regional rounds were held in Chattogram, Dhaka, and Rangpur, from which 70 teams advanced to the national round. These young participants will showcase their creativity, skills, and innovative ideas in robotics through various challenges on the national stage.

At WRO Bangladesh 2025, students will compete in multiple categories, including Future Innovators, Future Engineers, RoboMission, and RoboSports. The contests will be divided into three age groups: Elementary (8–12 years), Junior (11–15 years), and Senior (14–19 years). Based on the registrations for the national round, 42 teams will compete in Future Engineers, 16 teams in Future Innovators, 20 teams in RoboMission, and 2 teams in RoboSports.

The day-long event will commence at 8:00 a.m. with registration, followed by rounds of competition and evaluation throughout the day. The awards ceremony will begin at 4:00 p.m., with Professor Dr. Abul Kashem Mia, Vice-Chancellor of United International University, attending as the chief guest.

In the lead-up to the Olympiad, World Robot Olympiad Bangladesh (WROBD) organized 14 activation programs in June across five districts at different public and private universities. These workshops drew participation from nearly 2,000 students. Since 2020, Bangladesh has been a regular participant in the Olympiad, earning success every year. Additionally, activation workshops were organized in all eight divisions to raise awareness about robotics and encourage participation.

The World Robot Olympiad Bangladesh (WROBD) is jointly organized by WROBD and the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN). The winning teams from the national round will represent Bangladesh at the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2025, scheduled to be held in Singapore this November.
