BPO Boost: Bangladesh Backs Better Business Skills

On Monday, 22 September, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) and the Accelerating and Strengthening Skills for Economic Transformation (ASSET) project, implemented under the Technical and Madrasa Education Division of the Ministry of Education, to develop a skilled workforce for the country’s Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.
Under the agreement, BACCO will be included in ASSET’s enterprise-based training programs. Through this collaboration, demand-driven skilled human resources will be developed for the BPO industry, the capabilities of officers and managers will be enhanced, and training programs of various durations will be offered to create new employment opportunities. The initiative will especially benefit the country’s unemployed and underprivileged populations by providing them with opportunities to enter the workforce.
On the occasion, BACCO President Tanvir Ibrahim signed the MoU on behalf of the association, while Project Director (Additional Secretary) Mir Zahid Hasan signed on behalf of the ASSET project.
Also present were BACCO Finance Secretary Mohammad Aminul Haque, Executive Coordinator Md. Selim Sarkar, ASSET Project Deputy Director Engr. Rabindranath Mahat, and senior officials from both organizations.
