eBay Expands: Embraces Oslo’s Online Outfit Marketplace

eBay has announced its plan to acquire the Oslo-based social marketplace platform Tise. The announcement was made on Monday through an official statement, although the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, reported TechCrunch.
Tise primarily operates as an online marketplace for second-hand fashion and home décor items. The platform allows users to follow sellers, like and comment on products, and receive personalized recommendations. eBay stated that these features will add a new dimension to their consumer-to-consumer services and appeal to Gen Z and millennial users.
Founded in 2014, Tise received its first investment from eBay Ventures in 2022 and has raised a total of $45 million in funding to date.
Tise co-founder and CEO, Erik Frøyland Rime, said, “We have always believed in making resale fun, easy, and inspiring. eBay will further strengthen that vision for us.”
The acquisition is expected to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2025. The deal will enable eBay to modernize its platform, expand into social commerce, and enhance its influence in the sustainable retail market.
