UK pay-TV group Sky, currently owned by Comcast, is set to cut around 600 jobs, Reuters reported on Tuesday, citing an informed source.

The company has invested heavily in its products and platforms over the past three years. Following this phase, it is now focusing on making its services faster, simpler, and more reliable. A Sky spokesperson said, “In the future, the company will invest more in digital-first services, quality content, and enhanced product performance.”

Sky, which employs approximately 23,000 staff, currently sells more than 90% of its TV subscriptions through internet-based platforms such as Sky Stream and Sky Glass, which have become popular alternatives to traditional satellite services.

The restructuring will affect around 900 positions, of which approximately 600 jobs will be directly cut, representing roughly 2.5% of Sky’s total workforce.
