To inspire school, college, and university-level students in Bangladesh to engage with robotics, the online registration process for the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Bangladesh Regional 2025 has officially begun. For the first time, the competition is being organized at the regional level, enabling students from various cities to participate locally before advancing to the national stage.

According to the organizers, the regional competitions will take place in four major cities: Chattogram, Dhaka, Rangpur, and Sylhet. The Chattogram round is scheduled for August 22, followed by Dhaka on August 28, and Rangpur and Sylhet simultaneously on August 30. Winners from these regional rounds will proceed to the national finals to be held in September 2025.

The national champions will represent Bangladesh at the World Robot Olympiad 2025, set to be held in Singapore this November. Bangladesh has been a regular participant in WRO since 2020 and continues to achieve remarkable success year after year.

The WRO Committee has announced the official theme for the 2025 edition: “Future of Robots,” which aims to encourage students to design robotics solutions addressing the challenges of tomorrow. Based on this theme, the WRO Bangladesh Regional 2025 will feature competitions across various categories, including Future Innovators, Future Engineers, RoboMission, and RoboSports.

Participants will be grouped into three age-based divisions: Elementary (8–12 years), Junior (11–15 years), and Senior (14–19 years).

With the goal of ensuring Bangladesh’s successful representation on the global stage, WRO Bangladesh (WROBD) and the Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) have jointly launched the national team selection and preparation process. The ongoing regional events are integral to identifying talented young robotics enthusiasts who can represent the country in Singapore.

The registration window for each regional event will remain open until approximately three days before and after the respective competition date. In addition, to raise awareness and encourage participation, activation workshops are being held across all eight divisions of the country to familiarize students with robotics and the structure of the Olympiad.
