Abdun Naser Khan Appointed Secretary of Posts and Telecommunications Division
Abdun Naser Khan has been promoted from Additional Secretary to Secretary and appointed as the new Secretary of the Posts and Telecommunications Division. Previously serving at the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, he was reassigned to this role following a formal notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday, July 30.
An official of the 6354 batch, Abdun Naser Khan has held various key roles, including Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Public Administration, Director at Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC), and at the Statistics and Informatics Division. He also served as a Special Officer on Duty in the rank of Joint Secretary.
He was among the 131 joint secretaries who were promoted to the rank of Additional Secretary on August 25 last year, a move that addressed long-standing administrative grievances.
Following the retirement of former Secretary Dr. Md. Mushfiqur Rahman, the division’s routine responsibilities were temporarily managed by Zahidul Islam. After the announcement of the new appointment, both the official websites of the Posts and Telecommunications Division and the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism began displaying a “503” error from around 8:30 PM. It is presumed that the temporary inaccessibility was due to site updates related to the changes.
In a separate development on the same day, Taslima Kaniz Nahida, Director General (Additional Secretary) of the Department of Printing and Publications, was promoted to Secretary and appointed as Director General of the Bangladesh Government Welfare Board, a position that holds the status of a Secretary.
Another notification reassigned Syed Md. Nurul Bashir, Chairman of the National Housing Authority, as Special Officer on Duty (OSD) under the Ministry of Public Administration.
Additionally, Nuzhat Yasmin, Additional Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division, has been appointed on deputation as Director General of the Bangladesh Haor and Wetland Development Department, with her employment now placed under the Ministry of Water Resources.
