Gazipur Digital University Holds Prayer for Victims of Uttara Aircraft Tragedy
Gazipur Digital University (GDU) organized a special Doa Mahfil to pray for the departed souls of the students who lost their lives in the recent tragic aircraft accident near the Diabari campus of Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka. The event also included prayers for the swift recovery of those who were injured.
The prayer session was held on Wednesday, July 23, at the conference room of the university’s administrative building in Kaliakair, Gazipur. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf led the prayers and expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families. “We pray for the peace of the departed souls, especially the students, and stand in solidarity with the grieving families. We also wish a quick and full recovery for the injured,” he said.
The university’s Treasurer, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, along with faculty members from various departments, officials, and staff, were present at the event.
Earlier, on Tuesday (July 22), all academic classes across departments were suspended at GDU as a mark of respect and solidarity for the victims and their families.
