Apple may unveil the next-generation Vision Pro headset within this year, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, TechCrunch reports.
The upcoming headset is expected to feature an upgraded M4 processor along with a newly designed strap aimed at reducing neck and head strain.
The first version of Vision Pro, released in February 2024 at a price of $3,499, was equipped with the older M2 chip. The next edition is expected to emphasize enhanced AI capabilities, aligning with Apple’s broader AI integration strategy across iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices.
It is speculated that the new M4 chip could contain more than 16 neural engine cores, significantly boosting the headset’s performance over its predecessor.
Apple also has plans to launch a lighter and more affordable version by 2027. In addition, the company is reportedly working on AR glasses similar to those developed by Meta.
