IDB-BISEW Offers Full IT Scholarships to Equip Bangladeshi Youth for Global Job Market
For the past 19 years, the Islamic Development Bank–Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Educational Wakf (IDB-BISEW) has been providing professional-level international-standard IT training and scholarships to talented Muslim youth in Bangladesh. The initiative aims to enhance employment opportunities in the fields of information technology and technical education. The program currently offers 13 professional courses—six for university graduates and seven for diploma holders. Madrasa students with equivalent qualifications are also eligible to apply.
The courses for graduates include training in web and mobile application development using Spring Boot, Android, and Flutter; web applications using Laravel, React, Vue.js, and WordPress; cross-platform apps with ASP.NET, Angular, and React; Oracle database application development; network solutions and system administration; and graphics, animation, and video editing.
For diploma holders, the scholarship program offers courses such as web application development using Laravel and React, network system administration, graphics, video editing and motion graphics, ASP.NET-based web application development, cloud computing using Oracle APEX, and 3D visualization.
The program is currently accepting applications for its 68th round of 8.5-month-long free IT training, specifically designed for non-IT graduates. The initiative is a joint venture between the Government of Bangladesh and the Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. A total of 165 seats are available in this round. Applicants must be no older than 30 years of age by the deadline of July 15. Candidates who have participated in a previous round are not eligible to apply again.
The selection process includes written and oral examinations, which will be held in Dhaka and Chattogram. The written test follows an MCQ format and assesses candidates’ proficiency in mathematics and English. All courses for diploma holders are offered only in Dhaka.
All training under the program is designed in alignment with market demands to ensure employability. According to IDB-BISEW, 92 percent of the graduates are currently employed in both domestic and international job markets. To date, the program has produced 17,276 IT professionals, who are working in more than 3,254 companies worldwide.
