Grameenphone, a leading mobile service provider, has signed an agreement with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro to encourage reading habits among students. The agreement was signed on Sunday, May 4, at Grameenphone’s headquarters in the Bashundhara residential area of Dhaka.

Under this partnership, Grameenphone will continue to support Bishwo Shahitto Kendro’s prize distribution festivals this year in five major cities—Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, Rajshahi, and Barishal. The company will provide prize books to the winners at these festivals.

The agreement was signed by Professor Abdullah Abu Sayeed, Founder and President of Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, and Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer of Grameenphone.

At the signing ceremony, Professor Sayeed expressed gratitude for Grameenphone’s continued support since 2004, stating, "This support has significantly expanded the reach of our excellence programs across the country and enhanced students’ interest in reading. It has also positively shaped Grameenphone’s public image as a socially responsible organization. We hope this cooperation will continue in the future."

The festival will begin in Dhaka on May 9 and 10, followed by events in Barishal on May 16, Chattogram on May 23 and 24, Khulna on July 11, and Rajshahi on July 19.
