ISPAB Elections: 'ISP United' Inspires Unity and Leadership at the Forefront

The election for the Executive Committee of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) for the 2025-27 term will take place on May 17. The voting will be held at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Conference Center located on Mintu Road in the capital. This time, there will be 263 voters in the general membership category and 600 voters in the associate membership category.

Through direct voting, nine members will be elected from the general membership category and four members from the associate membership category, making a total of 13 elected representatives. The final list of candidates was published by the election board on Sunday, April 27.

According to the final candidate list, signed by Election Board Chairman Mohammad Ali and members Rahib Hossain and Ershad Hossain, there are 14 contenders for the nine positions in the general membership category. Among the associate members, there are 10 candidates for the four positions. This means there is almost one candidate for every 19 voters in the general category, while the ratio is one candidate for every 60 voters in the associate category. Although the general membership category will witness limited competition, the associate category will experience more rivalry.

Following the publication of the final list of candidates, nine candidates from the general membership category have come together as a single panel, 'ISP United,' which aims to be the voice of ISPs. The panel is led by M.A. Hakim, CEO of Ambar IT Limited, who has previously served as president. A photo card has already been released by the panel, featuring Saiful Islam Siddique, Senior Vice President of the Executive Committee for the 2021-2023 term and Managing Director of ICC Communication Limited, at its center.

Other members of the ISP United panel include the current General Secretary and Managing Director of KS Network Limited, Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan; Moein Uddin Ahmed (CEO, Red Data (Pvt.) Limited), who has served multiple times on the Executive Committee; Asaduzzaman Sujon, Managing Director of Antarang Dot Com Limited; and Mahbub Alam Raju, CEO of Circle Network. First-time candidates from the ISP United team are Nayamul Haque Khan, Chairman of Majeda Networks Limited; Mo. Mithu Howlader, CTO of Invention Technologies Limited; and Rashedur Rahman Rajon, Managing Director of One Sky Communications Limited.

Panel leader Aminul Hakim stated, “Our team is formed by a group of experienced and dedicated professionals who have gained years of practical experience in the internet industry and are committed to sustainable growth in this sector. We believe that with combined skills, experience, and responsible leadership, we can build a prosperous, strong, and future-oriented ISP industry. We are committed to working relentlessly to safeguard the interests of our members and ensure the continued progress of the industry. We promise to make every effort to protect the respect and rights of all members.”
