Server Station Set-Up: Strengthening Primary Education’s Digital Backbone

To enhance technological capabilities in primary education, ensure secure storage and processing of its vast data archive, and expand digital services for stakeholders, the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) has inaugurated a newly built server station at its headquarters in Mirpur, Dhaka.

In addition, the modernization of the DPE’s multipurpose auditorium was also formally launched. The server station was constructed at a cost of Tk 23 crore, while the renovation of the auditorium cost Tk 97 lakh.

The inauguration ceremony, held on Sunday, April 13, was presided over by Professor Dr. Bidhan Ranjan Roy Podder, Advisor to the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. Also present at the event were Abu Taher Md. Masud Rana, Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, and Abu Noor Md. Shamsuzzaman, Director General of the Directorate of Primary Education.

The new server station aims to strengthen the department’s digital infrastructure by supporting safe data storage and reliable backup services, as well as expanding online service capabilities for internal and external users.

Later, the advisor delivered the closing remarks at an orientation session held in the upgraded auditorium for newly appointed headteachers. These educators, numbering 151 in total, were appointed to government primary schools from the 41st BCS non-cadre pool.
