Paving the Path to AI: "Road to AI Olympiad" Workshop Held in Chattogram
A preparatory workshop titled "Road to AI Olympiad" was successfully held at Chattogram Independent University (CIU) in anticipation of the Bangladesh Artificial Intelligence Olympiad 2025. The event saw the participation of 35 high school students from various institutions in Chattogram, who gained valuable insights into the rules and regulations of the AI Olympiad.
The workshop featured two distinguished resource persons—Misbah Uddin Inan, a silver medalist, and Abrar Shahid, a bronze medalist—both of whom represented Bangladesh at the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad. They are currently students of Notre Dame College.
During the session, participants were introduced to fundamental concepts of artificial intelligence, including linear regression, natural language processing, and computer vision. At the conclusion of the workshop, students presented their future aspirations in the field of AI, further fueling their enthusiasm for technology and innovation.
The event was attended by Dr. Asif Iqbal, a professor at Chattogram Independent University, along with CIU students Tanvir Alam Khandaker, Samah Binte Firoz, Mushfiqur Rahman Akib, Abdullah Al Nayeem, Rafid Mohammad Ibtesham, and Imon Hor.
By organizing such workshops, seminars, and competitions, the initiative aims to foster interest in artificial intelligence and technological advancements among the younger generation while enhancing their skills in the field. Notably, this marks the second time that the AI Olympiad is being organized in Bangladesh for students up to the 12th grade.
