NSTU Hall Adds 30 New Seats

Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) has introduced several new facilities at July Shaheed Smriti Chhatri Hall to support students’ academic activities, knowledge development, recreation and accommodation. The initiatives include the ‘Anirban Library’, ‘July Corner’, a designated sports area and 30 new residential seats.

The facilities were inaugurated on Monday, September 21, following a dengue prevention workshop. The initiatives were taken as part of efforts led by the hall’s new Provost, Dr Nahid Sultana, to create a more student-friendly residential environment.

New Space for Learning

The Anirban Library and July Corner are intended to provide students with opportunities for reading, independent learning, critical thinking and historical study within the residential hall.

A dedicated area has also been allocated for sports to support physical activity and recreation alongside academic commitments. The facility is expected to provide students with additional opportunities for interaction and social engagement.

30 New Residential Seats

To ease accommodation pressure, 30 new seats have been arranged in three rooms named ‘Maitree’, ‘Oikya’ and ‘Sakhya’. The additional capacity has been added to the hall’s existing residential facilities.

NSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Golam Rabbani praised the new initiatives, particularly the arrangement of the additional 30 seats, which he viewed as a positive step toward addressing students’ accommodation needs.

Together, the initiatives aim to expand the role of the residential hall beyond accommodation by creating dedicated spaces for learning, knowledge development, recreation and student interaction.
