‘Nightmare’- the Champion of HackerOne Bug Hunt
HackerOne Bug Hunt 2023 competition was held at ICT Tower under the slogan "Everybody needs a hacker". More than 250 talented ethical hackers from various educational institutions across the country participated online in the participation of ethical hackers. The gala round was held on Saturday with the selected top 50 people.
The day-long event was organized in three stages by the iDEA project of Bangladesh Computer Council of Information and Communication Technology Department and courtesy of Bug Bounty Community Bangladesh. In the morning, the first phase of the program was inaugurated by the Project Director and Joint Secretary of iDEA Project Md. Altaf Hossain. Live hacking session with talented ethical hackers started after the opening ceremony. There, participants directly discover web platform security flaws. At the last stage of the program, the conference session was organized and the prize distribution ceremony was completed.
Bangladesh Computer Council Executive Director and Additional Secretary (Grade-1) Ranjit Kumar was present as the chief guest of the Hacker One Bug Hunt 2023 award ceremony.
Project Director of Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Eco-System Abul Fatah Md. Baligur Rahman, iDEA Project Senior Consultant Siddharth Goswami, Communications Consultant Sohag Chandra Das, Consultant Abul Kalam Ehsanul Kalam Azad, Consultant Md. Momenul Islam, Eastern Bank Limited were present as special guests on the occasion. Head of Information Security Abul Kalam Azad and Beatles Chief Cyber Operations Officer Shahi Mirza were present among others.
The team ‘Nightmares’ won Tk. 25,000 as the champion of this year's bug hunt organized by the ICT Department and Bugbangunti Bangladesh Community. The team ‘Asrafi’ received a prize of Tk. 15,000 as the 1st runner-up in the event while 'Toby' won a prize of Tk. 10,000 as the 2nd runner-up in the contest. The chief guest along with the special guests distributed the prizes among the winners. Apart from this, the best bug finders were given another bug bounty of Tk. 1 lakh 9 thousand.
The event was jointly supported by HackerOne, HackerOne (Crowdsource Security Platform), BugBountyHunter.com, Lab AR, PinterestLab, Discloseify, Got-My-Host. The program was hosted by Tahmina Tahrim Isti.
