He brought we three from student politics to parliament: Palak
In the discussion of the condolence proposal chaired by the Speaker Shireen Sharmin Chowdhury, the state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak prayed for the salvation of the departed souls of the deceased freedom fighter Mohammad Matiur Rahman, Professor Panna Kaiser and the member of parliament of the neighboring parliamentary constituency Natore-4 who passed away recently.
While speaking about about Professor Abdul Quddus, Palak said, ‘he was nominated seven times and was elected five times. In fact, he was elected in 1986 too but was declared defeated a day later. He was ins and outs a soldier of Bangabandhu. He completed his term as the Minister of State for Fisheries and Animal Resources successfully.
The state minister also mentioned that, under his guidance it was possible for 3 young people of Natore including to stand at the Parliament. Palak said, we who are members of the new generation; Especially the three young parliamentarians we have now in Natore, Shahidul Islam Bakul, Shafiqul Islam Shimul and myself; All three of us, under the leadership of Professor Abdul Quddus Bhai, got the opportunity to come from student politics to the great parliament with his love and compassion’.
He also said, today with a very heavy heart, I want to commemorate in this parliament my respected elder brother, the undisputed leader of our Chalanbil, repeatedly elected Member of Parliament of Natore district Awami League, former successful state minister, valiant freedom fighter Professor Abdul Quddus MP. And respectfully remembering all the martyred members of the Bangabandhu family including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
On Sunday, as per the section 12/1, the presidium was nominated in the 24th session of the 11th National Parliament. After that, Speaker Shireen Sharmin presented a condolence proposal for the death of Member of Parliament of Natore-4 Parliamentary Constituency Prof. Abdul Quddus and Member of Parliament Rebecca Momin of Netrokona 4 Constituency. He said that the late Abdul Quddus was a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications in the Ninth Parliament.
After the condolence proposals, the Questions answer session, drawing attention to matters of urgent public importance (Rule-71) and disposal of notices received were made thereunder.
